Archaeologists investigating a 5,000-year-old Copper Age grave in the Czech Republic believe they may have unearthed the first known remains of a gay or transvestite caveman, reports the Telegraph.
The man was apparently buried as if he were a woman, an aberrant practice for an ancient culture known for its strict burial procedures.
Since the grave dates to between 2900 and 2500 BC, the man would have been a member of the Corded Ware culture, a late Stone Age and Copper Age people named after the unique kind of pottery they produced. Men in this culture were traditionally buried lying on their right side with their heads pointing west, but this man was instead buried on his left side with his head pointing east, which is how women were typically buried.
"From history and ethnology, we know that people from this period took funeral rites very seriously so it is highly unlikely that this positioning was a mistake," said lead archaeologist Kamila Remisova Vesinova. "Far more likely is that he was a man with a different sexual orientation, homosexual or transsexual."
Another clue is that Corded Ware men would typically be buried alongside weapons, hammers and flint knives, as well as food and drink to prepare them for their journey to the other side. But this man's grave instead contained only a traditional egg-shaped pot, which was what women were typically buried with.
With all the evidence taken together, archaeologists are confident that the best explanation for the strange burial is that the man was effeminate, perhaps a homosexual, and possibly a transvestite.
"We believe this is one of the earliest cases of what could be described as a 'transsexual' or 'third gender grave' in the Czech Republic," reiterated cooperating archaeologist Katerina Semradova.
Semradova also noted that archaeologists from a previous dig had uncovered a grave from the Mesolithic period where a female warrior was buried as a man, so mixed gender burials, though rare, were not unprecedented.

Empty Rhetoric from Obama in Hiroshima

Empty Rhetoric from Obama in Hiroshima

By John Loretz | International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War | May 27, 2016
President Obama made an historic visit to Hiroshima today—the first sitting US president to do so since the US atomic bombing of that city on August 6, 1945, followed three days later by the atomic bombing of Nagasaki.
As he did in Prague, in 2009, President Obama gave a very moving and meaningful speech about the impact of nuclear weapons, reflecting upon the experience of the victims of nuclear warfare—the Hibakusha.
“Their souls speak to us,” he said. “They ask us to look inward, to take stock of who we are and what we might become.”
In reiterating his call for a world without nuclear weapons, President Obama acknowledged that the suffering of the Hibakusha gives us “a shared responsibility to look directly into the eye of history and ask what we must do differently to curb such suffering again.” The very existence of nuclear weapons, he said, “fuels our moral imagination.”
These thoughts and words, though profound, have not been matched by US actions to eliminate nuclear weapons. To the contrary, the Obama administration is implementing a $1 trillion, 30-year program to build new and more usable nuclear weapons, along with more accurate delivery systems and the infrastructure to keep producing them well into the 21st century. This administration has done less to reduce the number of US nuclear weapons than any of its recent predecessors. Not only has the US failed to reduce its own reliance on nuclear weapons, it has induced other countries, including Japan, to rely upon US nuclear weapons for their own security. Hiroshima survivor Setsuko Thurlow has rightly called this extended nuclear deterrence arrangement with Japan an insult to the Hibakusha.
Moreover, while President Obama payed homage to the Hibakusha and to the victims of all wars, declaring that we must “reimagine our connection to one another as members of one human race,” the United States has boycotted a series of international conferences and the meetings of a UN working group with a mandate to recommend ways of doing things differently to achieve a world without nuclear weapons and to ensure that no other city ever suffers the fate of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
All of the other nuclear-armed states—Russia, China, France, the UK, India, Pakistan, Israel, and North Korea—have paid similar lip service to the goal of a nuclear-weapons-free world, and all are engaged in their own large and expensive nuclear rearmament programs. All of them have boycotted the UN working group that is laying the groundwork for a new legal instrument to prohibit nuclear weapons based on their humanitarian impact. All of the nuclear-armed states, including the US, are turning their backs on the meaning of Hiroshima and the appeal of the Hibakusha.
When the US and the other nuclear-armed states stop doing everything they can to block a treaty banning nuclear weapons, and abandon plans to rebuild and perpetuate their nuclear arsenals, President Obama’s call for a world free of nuclear weapons will have meaning. Until then it is empty rhetoric.

Is Amsterdam a Kind Place?

If a person without family or friends dies in Amsterdam, a poet will write
a poem and recite it at the funeral.

Many people die alone and unnoticed -- without mourning, without anyone on
hand to say a few kind words, with no fancy church service or glowing
obituary. But in Amsterdam, thanks to retired civil servant Ger Frits,
there is someone who will take the time to arrange for a chapel, some
flowers, music, and a personalized poem written and delivered by respected
Dutch poet Frank Starik.

As reported by the 2010 BBC radio program “The Lonely Funeral,” these
two men teamed up in 2002 to bring a little dignity to the forgotten.
Michele Ernsting of Netherlands Radio Worldwide explained that, “The
Netherlands is a society that is incredibly classless. The idea that we are
all the same in death is at the core of some very Dutch values.”

Judge Caught Trading Sex With Young Male Criminals For Lighter Sentences

Judge Caught Trading Sex With Young Male Criminals For Lighter Sentences

judge-joseph-boeckmann
An Arkansas judge has been running a side-business trading sex with vulnerable young male defendants in exchange for lenient sentencing.
Joseph Boeckmann served as a district judge in Cross County, Arkansas for six years, publicly presenting himself to be the very embodiment of moral high ground, deciding the fates of those who passed through his courtroom.
But now it’s Boeckmann who stands accused of a crime — reducing the sentences of young men, at least one of whom was under 18, who helped him with “personal work” underneath his judge’s robe.
The Judicial Discipline and Disability Commission shined a light on the dirty scheme: Boeckmann told young males to contact him at his home to complete “community sentences” like trash pickup, but once they arrived they’d be given a much different task to service their community.

In exchange for sexual favors, he’d reduce their court fines or throw them out altogether.
Boeckmann was also quite the avid amateur photographer, and would require many of the men to pose for nude pictures, hundreds of which were recovered off his hard drive.
Oh, and he had props, too.
The Commission said, “They all depict young men, many naked who are in various poses inside the judge’s home and outside in his yard,” adding, “There are numerous photos of naked young men bending over after an apparent paddling.”
In one case, Boeckmann reduced a traffic fine and asked the defendant to bring three bags of cans to his house. The judge offered a drink to the defendant, referred to as W.M., then “Boeckmann informed W.M. that he needed W.M. to pull 2 cans from the bags and bend over as if he were picking up the cans.”

The judge then coached him “on how to pose and spread his legs farther apart.”
Boeckmann is also accused of seeking out “young Caucasian males” to litigate for the sole purpose of targeting them for sex.
“Beoeckmann has engaged in a consistent pattern of seeking out young Caucasian male litigants… for the purpose of forming personal, sexual relations with the litigants, thus creating a self-imposed conflict of interest for himself.”
If it’s any consolation, the judge has stepped down from his position and will never again seek employment as a local, county or state employee.

"POLITICAL CORRECTNESS"! - meaning and origin......

"POLITICAL CORRECTNESS"!

Although I consider myself rather fluent in the English language, that term was not in my vocabulary. My curiosity got the best of me and I decided to do a little research and after two weeks of chasing fruitless leads, I found what I'd been looking for at the Truman Library and Museum in Independence, Missouri.

An unnamed source there sent me copies of four telegrams that were between Harry Truman and Douglas MacArthur on the day before the actual signing of the Surrender Agreement. The contents of those four telegrams below are exactly as received, not a word has been added or deleted ..

(1) Tokyo, Japan
0800-September 1,1945
To: President Harry S Truman
From: General D A MacArthur
>> Tomorrow we meet with those yellow bellied bastards and sign the Surrender Documents, any last minute instructions?

(2) Washington, D C
1300-September 1, 1945
To: D A MacArthur
From: H S Truman
> > Congratulations, job well done, but you must tone down your obvious dislike of the Japanese when discussing the terms of the surrender with the press, because some of your remarks are fundamentally not politically correct!

(3) Tokyo, Japan
1630-September 1, 1945
To: H S Truman
From: D A MacArthur and C H Nimitz
> > Will do Sir, but both Chester and I are somewhat confused. Exactly what does the term politically correct mean?

(4) Washington, D C
2120-September 1, 1945
To: D A MacArthur/C H Nimitz
From: H S Truman
> > Political Correctness is a doctrine, recently fostered by a delusional, illogical minority and promoted by a sick mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible, to pick up a piece of shit by the clean end!

Why Do Potato Chip Bags Have So Much Air?

Potato chip bags are filled with nitrogen, not oxygen, to help preserve the
taste and freshness of the chips.

Potato chips are purposely packaged with extra space to act as a cushion
and keep them from being crushed during handling. But it actually isn’t
oxygen that is taking up so much space in the bags – it is nitrogen, the
gas that makes up 78% of the air we breathe. Nitrogen remains stable around
other chemicals, which makes it a useful preservative. On the other hand,
oxygen reacts with nearby substances. If potato chip bags were filled with
oxygen, the potatoes and the oil in the chips would end up becoming soggy
from the humidity and they would eventually spoil.

Roaming charges in the EU slashed by a third

Roaming charges in the EU slashed by a third

New rules that slash roaming charges for using mobile phones in other European countries have come into effect on 1 May, putting an end to overcharging from phone companies.
For several years the European commission has been battling with the big mobile providers to force through cuts to the cost of making cross-border calls and using data in another country. Following lengthy negotiations, the EU announced in October last year that it will ban these charges from June 2017. Until then, the EU has put a cap on the amount operators can charge.
That means roaming charges in the EU will fall by at least a third starting immediately. From June next year, roaming charges in the EU will be abolished completely.
This applies to cost of making calls, sending texts and using data within the European Economic Area; that is the 28 EU countries plus Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway.
The most an operator will be able to add to what you would pay domestically is five euros cents for a call, two cents for a text and five cents for each megabyte of data. Incoming voice calls will incur a charge of one cent per minute.
This applies to cost of making calls, sending texts and using data within the European Economic Area; that is the 28 EU countries plus Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway.
The roaming charges have event entered UK’s Brexit campaign, with prime minister David Cameron posting on Twitter: “EU roaming charges now down to near-zero; gone entirely next year. Consumers are better off remaining in the EU.”
